Working hands-on with natural fibres is an enjoyable and organic process, as each piece takes shape by agitating and compressing the fibres.
Lots of water is used (a process known as ''wet felting'), which often leaves you soaked or drenched, or in Scots, drookit!
Working with the amazing properties of wool - being warm, durable and breathable - I make felt slippers, baby booties, scarves, gloves and wristwarmers. I also make necklaces, table mats and coasters.
I enjoy producing both natural and colourful dyed pieces. The dyed pieces are produced using bath, dip and spash techniques that have been developed through practice and experimentation.
